Careers Made Possible at Brian Perry Civil
Ready to take the next step in your career? Join a team that thrives on collaboration and bold thinking, delivering complex civil projects that shape communities and protect environments. Here, your ideas matter, your growth is supported, and your work leaves a lasting impact.

About the Role

This Estimator role sits at the centre of winning and shaping civil infrastructure work. You’ll support the pricing of tenders across a varied pipeline that includes bridges and technically interesting projects, working alongside experienced estimators and project teams.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their estimating career (around 2–3 years’ experience) who’s ready to step up, build capability in first principles estimating, and gain exposure to more complex bids.

  • Support the preparation of accurate, competitive cost estimates for civil projects
  • Assist with first principle pricing, quantity take-offs and cost build-ups
  • Contribute to tender submissions, working across multiple bids with guidance
  • Collaborate with project, commercial and design teams to help shape methodology and pricing
  • Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and assess quotes
  • Learn from and work closely with experienced estimators to build your capability

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who is keen to grow their estimating career and enjoys problem solving and working in a fast-paced tendering environment.

  • Around 2–3 years’ experience in estimating within construction (Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor environment essential)
  • Exposure to first principle estimating and quantity take-offs
  • Ideally familiar with Candy or similar estimating software (or willing to learn)
  • Experience on the contracting side (pre-contract estimating rather than purely QS/commercial delivery)
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications with an eye for detail
  • Strong willingness to learn, take ownership and develop your skillset
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
