Description

Our team of approx. 30 people strong are spread across the country, giving you the option to choose what works best for you. Our National Estimating Unit provides residential and light commercial construction quoting and pricing services to our branches across the country.


The Role:

PlaceMakers NEU are looking for experienced estimators to join our dynamic Frame and Truss estimation Team. You will be working on a range of projects, liaising regularly with our account managers, subcontractors, suppliers and trade customers consulting on plans and quotes.  

It is crucial you can hit the ground running with the ability to provide estimation for all residential and light commercial buildings using MiTek Sapphire ideally but 20/20 experience also acceptable

We have 3 permanent full-time roles, offering 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday. Based in Mt Wellington, Auckland Central or New Lynn, Auckland and Lower Hutt, Wellington. 


Skills and Experience: 

To be successful in this role, you will be computer literate and have good mathematical ability alongside a positive approach in finding creative and forward-thinking yet practical solutions. In addition, a good understanding of key aspects of building contracts and projects is an added advantage as well as all the following – 
  • Proven experience in Frame and Truss estimating or Detailing essential, with the ability to reach architectural plans
  • Proven Customer Service and/or Sales Experience
  • Experienced in MiTek software (20/20 or Sapphire)
  • Building Industry experience is ideal, however a desire to learn about our products is a must
  • Strong communication skills, ability to pick up the phone and provide tailored solutions
  • Be able to work under pressure and organise your time and environment for maximum efficiency
  • Computer literacy is important, confident user of Excel, however full training will be given on our in-house computer systems
  • Attitude and positive approach, sense of humour and willingness to learn are key attributes to bring to the table
