Responsible for all external communications (including media and government relations), internal communication, sustainability and digital content and channels; our team works cross-functionally with over 30 business units. We are building our capability and have a focus on attracting talented, collaborative communications professionals. About the Opportunity

This is a key role in our Communications team where no two days will be the same. Reporting directly to the Head of Communications, you will support proactive communication strategies that build the profile of Fletcher Building and its leadership, effectively engage the Company’s stakeholders and protect the brand from reputational threats. You will provide strategic counsel to Group functions, business units and division on reputational risk; representing the communications team on appropriate projects and committees. 

You will be given a wide breadth of responsibilities including external communications, issues and crisis management, financial communications, media and government relations. With a collaborative mentality, you will ensure all internal and external communications are aligned with the wider Group and work at pace to manage media and key stakeholder engagement. 

About You

With proven experience in communications strategy development and execution, you will have the confidence to take ownership on tactical responses to emerging and existing business issues. A corporate background with superior commercial acumen is ideal and you will feel comfortable engaging with key stakeholders both externally and internally. This role centres on decisive communications and you will be expected to prioritise your workload as new focuses arise. 

Although you will be a proven communications professional, you will also have an aptitude to learn and an openness to support the wider team as needed. Surrounded by a talented group, you will collaborate to find creative, practical solutions to complex problems.
