We are listed on both the NZX and ASX, and have some 30 businesses across New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific. We are enriched by many different languages, customs and lifestyles.

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced External Reporting Manager to join Fletcher Building’s Group Finance and Performance team.

The core purpose of this role is to maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality financial reporting for the Group and its subsidiaries. This includes preparing results announcements, presentations, and annual reports, all supported by strong internal control processes. The role is crucial in ensuring compliance with both accounting and external reporting requirements, and the key responsibilities include:

Providing technical accounting assessments and recommendations
Leading the production of the Group’s Interim and Annual Reports for shareholders
Supporting the production of the Group’s Climate Statements
Supporting the Group’s treasury accounting function; and
Administering and managing LOIS, the Group’s lease accounting software (incl. providing IFRS 16 related accounting advice to the Group’s subsidiary finance teams).

The role contributes to the development of reporting practices that effectively communicate value to investors and analysts through the Group’s external reporting programme. It ensures alignment with external tax deliverables and facilitates timely engagement and delivery from Group Finance for both internal and external stakeholders.

The role's principal outputs are prepared for review with some reports subject to external audit. The objective is to ensure compliance, achieve successful audit outcomes, and provide clear, transparent communication to the market.

About you
You will be CA / CPA qualified, with at least 5 years IFRS accounting experience gained from either a large corporate, Big 4 firm or within Banking and Financial Services with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.

Critical to your success will be your exceptional stakeholder management skills and your ability to articulate financial performance through meaningful narrative.  Both will be achieved by strong influencing skills, proven leadership capability and the ability to manage to a critical path.

This role presents an opportunity to join a wider finance team where there is a clear path, and a strong leadership team who are focused on attracting, retaining and developing high performers, in a highly engaged and diverse workforce.
