The Opportunity
As a Field Sales Manager - Specification, you will lead a team of 7 Specification Managers in a hands-on leadership role, driving long term project success across multi residential, retail and commercial developments, including the Western Sydney Airport. Based in Sydney Metro, this role combines strategic leadership with active field engagement and is focused on identifying, influencing and securing specifications.  You will build and maintain strong relationships with Architects, Designers and key decision makers across key accounts and major projects. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the sales strategy, revenue planning and major contract pipelines.
  • Lead and develop a high performing team of specification specialists.
  • Drive specification activity with architects and designers.
  • Proactively identify and engage prospective projects within the commercial market.
  • Build strong relationships with Architects, Interior designers, and Consultants
  • Maintain accurate project pipelines and CRM records
  • Represent Laminex at industry events, presentations and design forums
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging project opportunities

About You
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience leading a commercial or specification led sales team within the construction or design sector.
  • You are a confident relationship‑builder with a passion for design, construction and influencing outcomes.  
  • Strong technical and analytical capability, with the ability to support the team on technical queries and translate data into clear, practical insights.
  • Proven background and experience in specification sales, project engagement (ideally within building products, interiors or construction).
  • Strong understanding of finishing schedules, tender processes and commercial project pipelines.
  • Commercially astute with strong sales acumen and a long term, relationship focused approach.
  • Strong knowledge of the architectural, design or construction process and confident in engaging and influencing Architects, Designers and senior stakeholders.
  • Leadership style centred on culture, coaching and team performance.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills.
  • A proactive, prospecting mindset with strong pipeline management capability.
  • High level of organisation, autonomy and commercial awareness.
