Are you ready to make a significant impact on a transformative project? Fletcher Construction is seeking an experienced Foreperson to join our team for Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Te Awa Kairangi).


About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Foreperson to lead the construction of mechanically stabilised earth (MSE), reinforced earth (RE) and retaining wall structures on the Te Awa Kairangi project. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll coordinate crews, subcontractors and site activities while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and productivity. You'll work closely with engineers, supervisors and construction teams to keep work progressing smoothly and deliver quality outcomes.

  • Lead and coordinate the day-to-day construction of MSE, RE and retaining wall works
  • Plan and organise labour, plant and subcontractors to meet programme requirements
  • Monitor site progress, resolve issues and maintain productivity targets
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure environmental requirements are followed
  • Complete quality inspections, checklists and documentation to ensure work meets specification
  • Maintain accurate records relating to labour, plant, materials and daily site activities

What You'll Bring to the Role

  • Trade qualification relevant to construction, civil infrastructure or a related industry
  • Full New Zealand Driver Licence
  • At least five years' construction industry experience, including previous foreperson or supervisory responsibility
  • Proven experience delivering concrete, timber, RE, MSE and retaining wall construction works
  • Ability to lead, support and coordinate diverse site teams and subcontractors
  • Strong planning, communication and organisational skills, with a focus on quality and attention to detail

About Te Awa Kairangi 

Te Awa Kairangi Alliance is delivering transport, walking and cycling improvements to the SH2 Melling interchange and rail station, as part of a wider flood protection and city revitalisation programme. 

Fletcher Construction is working with Alliance partners AECOM, NZTA, Taranaki Whānui and Ngāti Toa Rangatira to deliver this transformative project.
