Description

Waipapa Pine, part of Fletcher Building, is a well-established producer of high-quality sawn timber products located in Northland, with sites in Waipapa and Whangārei. Over the years, we’ve had a heavy focus on supporting employment opportunities for the people of Northland. We are now seeking a dedicated and experienced Forklift Driver to join our team based at our Whangarei site.

As a Forklift Driver, you will play a key role in supporting our dispatch operations from 8am – 6pm, Monday to Friday. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will safely and efficiently move timber products and materials throughout the site, ensuring production targets and customer delivery requirements are met.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Safely loading, unloading, and transporting timber products, raw materials, and finished goods on to trucks and across the site using large forklifts.
  • Completing daily pre-start inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
  • Following all health, safety, and environmental procedures to maintain a safe workplace for yourself and your team.
  • Assisting with stock control activities, including inventory checks and reporting any discrepancies or damaged products.
  • Working closely with other teams members across warehousing, and dispatch teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely movement of materials.
  • Supporting general yard and sawmill operations, including housekeeping and maintaining a clean, organised work environment.

About You
  • A current Forklift Operator Certificate and F endorsement (preferred).
  • At least 3 years’ experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing, sawmill, timber, or industrial environment with strong health and safety practices.
  • Experience operating larger-capacity forklifts preferable, ideally 8-tonne and above.
  • The ability to work safely in a fast-paced outdoor industrial environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive team-focused attitude.
  • Reliable with stable work history, and a commitment to high standards of performance and safety.
