About NIBF

Northern Iron & Brass Foundry (NIBF) was established in 1934, with the foundry in Wangan located on the outskirts of Innisfail. NIBF specialise in the production of castings in a broad range of Iron, Bronze, Aluminium and Steel. We employ a range of skillsets including Moulders, Fitters, Operators, Logistics, and safety. We are one of the largest employers in the Wangan community. Our products are sold both throughout Australia and internationally. 

About the Role 

Are you a skilled trade qualified professional with a passion for precision and quality in manufacturing? 

Join our dynamic team at NIBF Innisfail as a Foundry Moulder. This vital role involves preparing and assembling moulds, pouring molten metal into them, and ensuring the production of high-quality castings that meet rigorous standards. Your technical expertise, keen attention to detail, and commitment to safety will drive the efficiency and excellence of our operations. As a Foundry Moulder, you will collaborate with dedicated team members and work under the guidance of the Operations Manager to achieve production goals and maintain our reputation for outstanding craftsmanship.

In this role, you'll be responsible for key tasks including mould preparation, casting process oversight, and equipment operation. You'll ensure that every casting meets our quality specifications through meticulous inspection and quality control measures. Additionally, your ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues promptly will be crucial in maintaining production efficiency. 

Main Job Responsibilities 

Prepare and assemble moulds according to specific casting requirements.
Pour molten metal into moulds and monitor the cooling process.
Operate and monitor machines and tools.
Inspect finished castings for defects and ensure they meet specifications.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
