Are you a recent Graduate in chemical/materials engineering?

Concrete is the second most consumed substance on Earth, after water, and the most abundant human-made material in history

In this role, you’ll join the Firth Concrete Technology team helping them to provide technical guidance to the relevant businesses to extract the maximum value from materials and processes that are fit for purpose and market application.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist the operational management and engineering function to improve and maintain safety, environmental and quality standards.
  • Analyse quality control results from all of the plants and identify trends
  • Conduct trials in a laboratory setting, using appropriate test methods
  • Conduct physical audits on sites to confirm compliance with relevant standards
  • Design concrete mixes and verify their performance for sending to production teams
  • Investigate complaints about concrete problems, gathering relevant information to find a root cause
  • Establish and sustain strong relationships with Firth engineers, plant managers, laboratory staff, technicians and batchers.
  • Respond promptly to enquiries, (internal and external) to ensure that risk is managed and controlled.
  • Learn and understand and implement NZS 3104, NZS 3109, NZS 3101, NZS 4455 and NZS 4456 requirements

What You’ll Bring:

  • A degree in engineering (Chemical & Materials Advantageous)
  • Ability to analyse and interpret information using statistical analysis
  • A collaborative approach and excellent communication skills to engage with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to create and write macros with VBA
  • High focus on Health & Safety in the workplace
