Description

At Laminex, we’ve built our reputation on innovation, quality, and manufacturing excellence. As a market leader in building products, we are entering an exciting phase of operational transformation and growth — and we are seeking an exceptional Head of Operations to help shape what comes next.

This is a rare executive opportunity for a commercially astute and transformational manufacturing leader to lead a large-scale, multi-site operation and drive world-class performance across safety, people, quality, customer outcomes, and operational excellence.

The Opportunity

Reporting to General Manager and part of the Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Operations will lead a complex national manufacturing footprint, championing a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, innovation, and high performance. You will play a pivotal role in shaping operational strategy, embedding manufacturing excellence disciplines, and leading significant transformation initiatives that enhance capability, efficiency, automation, and long-term competitiveness.

This role requires a leader who can operate strategically while remaining deeply connected to frontline operations, people, and customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a large-scale multi-site manufacturing operation, driving a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Deliver measurable improvements across safety, quality, productivity, service, and cost performance
  • Lead the implementation and embedding of a comprehensive Manufacturing Excellence transformation program across multiple sites
  • Drive operational performance through strong financial discipline, data-led decision making, and commercial acumen
  • Develop compelling business cases and lead major capital investment and transformation projects
  • Champion manufacturing technology, systems advancement, and automation initiatives
  • Build high-performing leadership teams through authentic, visible, and values-driven leadership
  • Partner closely with commercial and customer-facing teams to ensure a customer-first mindset across operations
  • Ensure product quality and consistency remain central to all operational outcomes
  • Contribute strategically as a key member of the broader leadership team

About You

You are an accomplished operational executive with a proven track record leading large-scale manufacturing environments. You combine strategic capability with operational depth and are recognised for your ability to lead transformation, elevate performance, and bring people on the journey.

You will ideally bring:

  • Qualifications in Engineering (Process, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar)
  • Postgraduate qualifications highly regarded (MBA, Management, or equivalent)
  • Significant experience leading complex, multi-site manufacturing operations
  • Demonstrated success delivering Manufacturing Excellence transformation programs with measurable outcomes
  • Strong financial and commercial capability, including P&L leadership
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing systems, technology, and automation
  • Proven success leading large-scale capital and operational transformation projects
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership capability
  • Strong project management expertise
  • A collaborative, authentic, and positive leadership style
  • A passion for quality, consistency, and customer outcomes

Why Join Laminex?
