Description

The Head of Sales is accountable for the strategic and operational leadership of sales across all national regions and branches.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, this role drives top-line growth, margin improvement, market share, and long-term customer value.

 The Head of Sales develops a high performing, engaged team to deliver sustainable business performance, integrating commercial insight with market execution and ensuring end-to-end accountability across all branch and sales teams. 

Key Responsibilities 
  • Lead the development and execution of national sales strategy and plans. 
  • Drive sales growth, margin improvement, and market share expansion. 
  • Build and maintain strong customer and stakeholder relationships. 
  • Oversee sales performance, forecasting, and KPI reporting. 
  • Collaborate with operations and finance to align pricing and profitability. 
  • Manage and develop high-performing sales teams. 
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and trade practice standards. 
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. 
Skills and Experience 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Sales, Management, or related discipline; post-graduate qualifications desirable. 
  • Minimum 10 years leading national sales functions in civil construction, manufacturing, industrial, or similar sectors.  
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing sales teams. 
  • Proven ability in implementing structured and effective sales strategies, particularly across pricing, account management, and capability development. 
  • Proven experience in embedding sales and performance metrics or applying continuous improvement methodologies. 
  • Strong commercial, sales, and technical acumen. 
  • Deep understanding of sales processes, budgets, and customer lifecycle. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Demonstrated success in driving a performance-focused culture and customer-led insights.
