Description

Winstone Aggregates is one of New Zealand’s leading suppliers of aggregates to the construction and infrastructure sectors.

We’re looking for a collaborative, people‑centred Head of Sales to lead our national sales function and play a key role on the Senior Leadership Team.

With a long history supporting major infrastructure, roading and construction projects around the country, we’re committed to partnering closely with our customers and communities, and to operating safely and sustainably in everything we do.

This is leadership role helping to continue shaping growth across Aotearoa’s infrastructure sector
In this role you will use commercial, market and sales data to guide the national sales strategy and support regional teams to deliver sustainable growth across New Zealand.

Leading a team of Account Managers, you’ll create a positive, inclusive environment where people are supported to do their best work and our customers feel genuinely cared for.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Championing a strong safety and customer‑centred culture within the sales team and across the wider business.
  • Shaping and delivering the national sales strategy, including regional growth plans, to achieve revenue, margin and volume targets.
  • Building deep, long‑term relationships with key customers and partners, and leading major tenders, pricing discussions and commercial proposals.
  • Coaching and developing Account Managers, lifting sales capability and supporting customer‑facing teams in other parts of the business.
  • Working closely with Quarry Operations and other functions on forecasting, S&OP, credit management, and the effective use of CRM and quoting tools.
About you
You are a warm, inclusive leader who brings people together and enjoys building strong relationships internally and externally. You balance commercial acumen with empathy and a coaching mindset, and you’re comfortable working with complexity while keeping things clear and practical for your team.
You will bring:
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, Commerce, Marketing or a related discipline (an MBA or similar post‑graduate study is an advantage).
  • Significant experience (around 10+ years) in senior sales or commercial leadership roles, ideally in B2B or industrial environments.
  • A proven track record of growing revenue, market share and customer engagement through thoughtful strategy, disciplined execution and strong relationships.
  • Experience leading and developing sales or account management teams, with a focus on coaching, feedback and shared success.
  • Confidence working with pricing, forecasting, CRM systems and sales operations, and partnering effectively with operations or supply chain teams (e.g. S&OP).
What we offer
At Winstone Aggregates and across Fletcher Building, you’ll be part of a supportive leadership community that cares about people’s wellbeing and development.
In return, we offer:
  • A competitive executive package with access to a wide range of Fletcher Building employee benefits.
  • The opportunity to influence strategy and decision‑making as part of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Ongoing professional development and career pathways across a large, values‑driven group.
  • The chance to make a meaningful contribution to the future of New Zealand’s infrastructure and built environment.
If you’re excited by the opportunity to lead a national sales team, nurture strong customer partnerships and help shape the future of Winstone Aggregates, we’d love to hear from you.

Research shows that females and minority groups don’t apply for roles unless they match 100% the job description.

We are proud of your diversity and see it as one of the things that make us stronger. We welcome your individuality and encourage you to bring your true self to work, so if this role is of interest but you feel you don’t fit it, we would still love you to apply.
