Description

EHS Manager – Mico New Zealand

Due to internal changes, we are looking for an experienced EHS Manager to join the Mico business. Reporting to the GM, you will work from our Penrose Support Office in Auckland.

A bit about the role:
At Mico, we are extremely proud of our Safety journey and the culture we have created. We have a team of 500+ stretched over 70 different locations, who genuinely care and look out for one another, and this is something we are immensely proud of.

Our journey is far from done however, and that is where you come in. You will be a pivotal person in continuing to develop and execute our safety strategy and pushing the boundaries of what is possible. You will be active within our network to ensure both a top down and bottom-up approach to safety accountability.

About you
You will be someone offering a proven track record as a senior H&S practitioner, ideally within a business offering scale and complexity. As this is a standalone role, you will work at all levels of the business which will require a ‘role your sleeves’ up mindset.

We are looking for someone with:
  • An ability to manage a diversity of stakeholders and a reputation for an ability to positively influencing senior leaders.
  • A passion for all things safety & wellbeing - you will be known for your positive approach to what is often a rather serious function.
  • An ability to confidently work at a variety of levels, from presenting at senior leadership meetings to providing in the moment training to our people when the opportunity presents.
  • Examples of where you have been able to influence cultural change and create tangible positive impacts to an organisations’ EHS performance.
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations, chain of responsibility, critical risk identification and mitigation, insights reporting and incident investigation, and injury prevention etc
  • Exposure to ISO45001 systems would be preferable, but not essential.

Why Join Us?
We have a strong base in terms of EHS performance, and a team committed to continuous improvement. You will have the support of the SLT, and our General Manager and you will work closely with our People & Performance team. You will have a dotted reporting line to our Divisional Head of EHS who will guide you on all matters governance related, as well as being an SME soundboard and someone who can support your professional development. Finally, although this is a standalone role, you will have the wider EHS team within our sister business, PlaceMakers, to engage with.

If this role sounds like it aligns with your career and professional aspirations, we’d encourage you to apply. If you have further questions you would like to discuss, you are welcome to call our P&P Manager, Kirsty Moffat, on 021 300 989

We are proud of the incredible diversity of people who make up our business! As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we strive to create an inclusive environment for all our employees across our national network of branches throughout New Zealand.
