Description

As an HBK-Consultant, covering a 12 month fixed term parental leave period you’ll be the go-to expert for Heating, Bathroom, and Kitchen solutions, helping our customers bring their dream spaces to life. You’ll work closely with trade professionals, retail customers, and suppliers to deliver exceptional service and create a seamless experience from concept to completion. 

Your role will combine design flair with practical know-how. From taking detailed briefs and providing product advice to preparing accurate quotes and managing each project, you’ll make every interaction count. With a proactive, customer-first mindset, you’ll seek out value-add solutions and ensure every project runs smoothly.
  • Engage with customers face-to-face, over the phone, and via email
  • Take clear briefs and guide clients through all aspects of creating, remodelling, or updating their kitchen and/or bathroom
  • Recommend suitable products, process orders, and manage sales documentation
  • Discuss materials, themes, colours, patterns, and layouts, producing sketches or drawings based on client requirements
  • Prepare accurate quotes and ensure timely follow-up
  • Build strong relationships with trade and retail customers by offering technical advice and design solutions
  • Support showroom merchandising and maintain product displays to inspire customers
  • Assist with pulling orders and preparing them for dispatch when needed
Fixed Term 12-month contract based at PlaceMakers Wairau Park offering 40 hours per week Monday to Friday with rostered Saturdays. 

About You: 
To succeed in this role, you will be more than just a designer, you’ll be a natural communicator and relationship builder who understands the needs of our customers and act as a trusted advisor who can turn ideas into reality. With a strong eye for detail and a passion for creating functional, stylish spaces, you’ll combine creativity with practical solutions to help customers bring their vision to life.
  • Previous experience in a similar role designing kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, flooring, and wardrobes 
  • Bring a strong work ethic, approachable nature and committed to delivering deliver great service to everyone you meet
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and perform under pressure
  • Highly organised with sharp attention to detail 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Tech-savvy and confident working across multiple systems (Excel essential), with experience in design software such as Winflex is desirable
