Description

The Role: 
We’re looking for an experienced and influential Senior Sales Leader to drive sales growth, improve margins, and lift overall profitability across our Waikato Hub. You’ll lead, mentor, and empower a team of seven Trade Sales professionals, ensuring they consistently deliver outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach, and inspire the Trade Sales team to deliver exceptional customer service and solutions-focused sales support
  • Spend approximately half of your time in the field, supporting your team by visiting customers and strengthening key relationships
  • Provide senior-level technical expertise and sales support across the branch network to maximise value from key accounts
  • Oversee and drive large sales initiatives and projects that support the team in meeting strategic goals
  • Conduct performance planning, coaching, and capability building to ensure ongoing development within the team
  • Establish a robust onboarding and training programme for new Account Managers to ensure they hit the ground running
  • Attend industry and trade events to stay across market insights, emerging trends, and opportunities
  • Operate as a hands-on, multi-skilled leader who can effectively balance strategic priorities with day-to-day operational demands

About you:
We’re seeking a dynamic sales leader with a strong history of driving business growth, leading high performing teams, and managing sales functions and budgets effectively.

What you’ll bring:
  • 5+ years’ experience leading successful, high-achieving sales teams
  • A demonstrated ability to embed yourself and your team within local customer networks
  • Strong commercial judgement and financial acumen
  • Outstanding relationship-building, communication, and people skills
  • Proven capability in stakeholder management and influencing change across varied groups
  • Ability to translate market intelligence into strategic sales action
  • Executive presence with the confidence to engage and influence senior leaders
  • High computer proficiency with advanced analytical and modelling skills
