We are part of Fletcher Building, a diversified global building industry company.

Our Special Steels Penrose site on Great South Road is the centre for round steel and tooling grade materials and we are currently on the lookout for a proactive and detail-driven Inventory Controller to join our dynamic team.  You will provide integral support and communication to the Warehouse and off-site storage facilities.

Reporting to the Inventory Manager, you’ll take ownership of the end-to-end inventory management process at our site. Your focus will be on maintaining stock accuracy, supporting service delivery to our customers, and managing stock movements across both on-site and off-site locations.

Your duties include:
  • Managing and maintaining accurate inventory records across multiple product lines.
  • Accountable for monthly stocktakes, rolling cycle counts, and ensuring accurate reconciliations.
  • Champion the day-to-day management of key inventory categories.
  • Liaison between the Warehouse, Sales, Dispatch and Supply teams.
  • Effectively manage any returns, damages or obsolete stock and material claims.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and maintenance with a strong focus on health and safety.

The ideal candidate for this position will:
  • 3-5 years inventory management experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Tech-savvy with proven proficiency in MS Office, Excel and Power BI.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems for inventory and data management.
  • Strong attention to detail with experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • A proactive problem-solver and critical thinker who demonstrates resilience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills who enjoys working in a diverse team culture.
  • Be comfortable in a Warehousing environment.

In return this role will offer.
As part of the Fletcher Building group of companies, we can offer great benefits including a competitive salary, flexible working, an incredible parental support scheme, educational support for yourself and your family, an opportunity to learn from some incredibly talented people and a fun and supportive environment with opportunities for growth and development.

Join us at Easysteel and be part of a team that’s passionate about innovation, excellence, and making a real impact in the market. ‘Apply now’ and take your career to the next level.
