As part of the Fletcher Building group, we are committed to quality, safety, sustainability, and doing the right thing for our people, customers, and communities.

About the Role

  • Collecting and preparing samples, and carefully recording results
  • Supporting research and continuous improvement initiatives within the lab
  • Maintaining accurate data records and contributing to clear reporting
  • Helping to create a clean, safe, and supportive laboratory environment
  • Proactively identifying ways to improve processes and outcomes
  • Supporting health, safety, and wellbeing practices across daily work

What We’re Looking For

  • Physically fit and able to carry out heavy lifting (handling aggregate samples and test equipment).
  • Strong attention to detail and able to follow standard test procedures accurately
  • Reliable and safety-conscious, with a good understanding of health & safety practices
  • Willingness to learn and grow within a technical environment
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and recording results
  • Good communication and teamwork

Useful (but not essential) skills/experience:

  • Previous experience in a laboratory, construction materials, or similar industry
  • Familiarity with mechanical or materials testing

Why Join Us

  • Supportive team culture where your contribution is valued
  • Opportunities to learn, grow, and build your technical capability
  • Access to wider Fletcher Building benefits and career pathways
  • A strong focus on health, safety, and wellbeing
  • The chance to contribute to projects that shape New Zealand communities

Bring your curiosity, care, and commitment to quality — and help us build a stronger future together.

Research shows that females and minority groups don’t apply for roles unless they match 100% the job description.

We are proud of your diversity and see it as one of the things that make us stronger. We welcome your individuality and encourage you to bring your true self to work, so if this role is of interest but you feel you don’t fit it, we would still love you to apply.
