We're looking for a motivated Laboratory Technician to join our Product Development team on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Penrose. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with a chemistry background who enjoys laboratory work, product testing, and working collaboratively to develop and improve building products.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Chemist, you'll support our Compounds Development team by preparing formulations, conducting laboratory testing, assisting with product development trials, and maintaining accurate records. You'll play an important role in ensuring our products continue to meet the high standards our customers expect. Other key responsibilities include:

• Prepare and mix laboratory formulations for product development.

• Procure and prepare raw materials and plasterboard samples for testing.

• Conduct physical and performance testing of compounds and products.

• Record, analyse, and report laboratory test results.

• Assist with product benchmarking against competitor products.

• Support field trials and product development projects.

• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.

About You

You may be a recent graduate who ideally has at least 1 year of laboratory support experience, as well as:

• A Bachelor's degree in Science, preferably majoring in Chemistry.

• Sound knowledge of applied chemistry and laboratory practices.

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.

• Proven analytical, calculation and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
