The Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Leading Hand to support production operations at our Tasman Frame & Truss plant. In this role, you’ll work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure safety, workflow, and quality standards are consistently met. You’ll lead by example on the floor—setting direction, coaching team members, and actively contributing to continuous improvement across the site.

Your day-to-day will include:

Supporting the shift to meet production targets and KPI expectations
Conducting quality control checks and ensuring all products meet required standards
Providing clear instructions, coaching, and leadership to improve team performance
Maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant working environment
Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives in productivity, safety, and workflow
Completing required production and quality documentation
Identifying hazards and supporting safe operating practices under the Protect Protocol

About You
You’re a reliable, practical leader with strong manufacturing experience and a commitment to safety and quality. You enjoy working alongside your team on the tools while guiding others to lift performance and maintain high standards. Ideally, you’ll bring:

Technical leadership experience in manufacturing or a similar hands-on environment
Mechanical aptitude and the ability to set up and check plant machinery
Strong communication, organisation, and time-management skills
Ability to read and interpret drawings
A solid understanding of WHS requirements
Physical fitness and the ability to perform repetitive manual work
A flexible mindset with the ability to adapt positively to change
A strong work ethic and willingness to learn and develop
Ability to follow company procedures and work well within a team
(Preferred) Forklift licence
