Description

Higgins Hamilton have secured an exciting new contract - the Waikato District Council northern road maintenance and renewals contract. Due to this, our team is growing, and we are seeking a Leading Hand to join the Cyclic Crew now, ready for project kick off in July 2025. 

The contract covers a roading network of approximately 1200km in North Waikato from Huntly to Pōkeno and you will be responsible for leading the cyclic crew undertaking general maintenance activities and minor road repairs.

What you’ll bring to the role:
  • You will be a people person – you will enjoy leading a team or have an interest in stepping into this position
  • Minimum of a full Class 2 license + WTR
  • Experience in the road maintenance industry 
  • Basic computer literacy required to manage your workload
  • Be a confident communicator
  • Motivated, reliable, honest team player who leads from the front
  • A desire to grow in a leadership role
