About the Role
We have a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced Legal Counsel to join Fletcher Building’s Group Legal team. This role will see you providing legal support to the Manufacturing and Distribution divisions as well as delivering proactive advice to the businesses of relevant developments in the law and legislation.
On a day to day basis, you’ll be providing general advice around consumer & competition law, drafting and reviewing contracts, providing transaction support, compliance work, project work and partnering with the business on key matters. The role will support all lawyers across the Fletcher Building Group to embed commercial discipline in the business and achieve positive commercial outcomes.
The Legal Team also provides support in the management of HS&E incidents and assists the business in managing all regulatory risk.
The Fletcher Building Legal team plays a role, together with the Finance Team, in monitoring and ensuring Fletcher Building policies are adhered to in relation to the assumption of legal and commercial risk and in accordance with Fletcher Building’s Delegated and Operational Authorities.
You will be a qualified lawyer, with at least 4+ years commercial law experience, gained from a top tier firm. In-house experience would be beneficial but isn’t essential.
Critical to your success will be your sound knowledge of Competition and Consumer law, as well as your experience in reviewing, negotiating and drafting contracts.
You’ll have exceptional stakeholder management skills and have the ability to develop trust and confidence from internal stakeholders, of varied levels of seniority.
