Description

Our Higgins Team is looking for an experienced Asphalt Plant - Loader Operator to join our Christchurch-based crew.

This is a permanent, full-time position, guaranteed a minimum of 40 hours per week. In this role, you'll operate loaders to support the safe and efficient delivery of our asphalt products.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in operating machinery to a high standard, and is committed to delivering quality work safely.

What you'll bring to the role:
  • Full Class 1 licence (Class 2–4 and WTR endorsements highly advantageous)
  • Proven experience operating loaders and other heavy plant within civil construction, roading, quarrying, or infrastructure environments
  • Strong understanding of plant maintenance and daily pre-start checks
  • Available to work nights as and when required
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a crew and follow instructions, and schedules
  • Safety-first attitude with a commitment to protecting yourself, your team, and the public
  • Physically fit and willing to assist with general labouring duties when required
  • Positive, reliable, and proactive approach to work
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic
  • Passion for the civil construction industry and willingness to continue learning
