Where your story begins:
 
We are seeking an experienced and safety orientated Day Shift Maintenance Fitter at our Ballarat site in regional Victoria.
 
The Maintenance Fitter will ensure the plant and machinery in designated areas is properly maintained and operating efficiently, whilst considering costs and the production schedule. The position requires a good understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance.

This role is based at our Trewin Street site plant for the majority of the time, this dayshift role would start at 730am and finish at 1530pm but may involve breakdown maintenance repairs at Gregory Street which is only located 10 minutes away.


 
Key focuses & responsibilities will include:
 
  • Inspecting, testing, and maintaining machinery, equipment in process and packaging areas
  • MIG, TIG and ARC welding
  • Condition monitoring to prevent breakdowns
  • Able to fault find and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical machinery + pumps and conveyers.
  • Performing general plant and building maintenance work
  • Pro-actively demonstrate a personal commitment to safety and our PROTECT safety culture
  • Develop and maintain positive work relationships within the team
 
The role you’ll play:
 
To be successful in the role you will ideally need to possess:
  • Trade qualified plus manufacturing, Hydraulic and Pneumatic experience.
  • Confined space entry, EWP, Working at Heights and Rigging ticket
  • Competent with MIG, TIG and ARC welding (Mandatory)
  • Able to handle changing priorities
  • Able to work both supervised and unsupervised
  • Able to work independently (will be the sole Fitter on site at times)
  • Competent in the use of a CMMS (MEX preferred)
  • Ability for equipment fault finding and resolving issues to minimise unplanned equipment downtime events.
