Description

We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Manager to join the Higgins Team based in Drury on the Liveable Streets Road Maintenance Contract. 

Liveable Streets is a joint venture between Higgins and HEB Construction delivering the 
South Rural Road Corridor Maintenance Contract for Auckland Transport. The team is responsible for general maintenance, emergency management, stakeholder relationships and a large programme of surfacing renewals and rehabilitation works.

As Maintenance Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day delivery of road maintenance across the network, ensuring work is well planned, efficient, and completed to a high standard. You’ll work closely with supervisors and engineers to coordinate programmes, manage performance, and keep delivery on track while maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Plan and manage maintenance programmes to meet delivery targets
  • Lead and support supervisors to organise crews and prioritise work
  • Oversee RAMM updates, QA completion, and accurate job close-out
  • Identify smarter ways to group work and improve productivity
  • Monitor costs and programme performance against budgets
  • Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and project teams

What You’ll Bring to the Role:
  • Civil engineering qualification or relevant equivalent experience
  • Solid experience leading delivery on infrastructure or maintenance contracts
  • Strong understanding of road maintenance practices and standards
  • Confident managing budgets, programmes, and subcontractors
  • Clear communicator who can work across teams and with clients
  • Organised and practical, with the ability to prioritise and guide others
