We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Project Manager to join the Higgins Team based in Drury on the Liveable Streets Road Maintenance Contract. 

Liveable Streets is a joint venture between Higgins and HEB Construction to deliver the South Rural Road Corridor Maintenance Contract for Auckland Transport. The Liveable Streets team is well established and performing well, in year 3 of the 10-year contract. They are responsible for sealed and unsealed road maintenance, emergency management, customer and stakeholder management and a large programme of surfacing renewals and rehabilitation works. 

We are seeking a Project Manager with proven road maintenance experience to oversee programme management, routine and cyclic maintenance. You will lead on-site teams, foster stakeholder relationships, and ensure compliance with contractual standards. Ideally, you bring 5 years of maintenance experience and RAMM proficiency. This role is suitable for an established Project Manager or someone ready to step up in their career.

What you will bring to the role:
  • Extensive experience in roading maintenance, including a strong understanding of the technical, contractual, and financial aspects of roading maintenance contracts.
  • Proficiency with RAMM, alongside advanced computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Project, and CRM systems.
  • Expertise in programme management, encompassing planning, resource allocation, and achieving deliverable milestones.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, coupled with strong on-site leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management abilities, fostering collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Solid experience in financial processes, including budgeting, P&L management, cost control, and ensuring financial objectives are met.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Construction Contracts Act, NZS 3917, and Traffic Management Plan (TTM) requirements for physical operations.
  • Commitment to the highest health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring compliance throughout all projects.
  • Expertise in quality assurance processes, ensuring all project standards are met and risks are effectively managed.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to handle multiple responsibilities while maintaining focus on successful delivery.
