Job Title: Maintenance Reliability Manager

Location: Laminex Cheltenham, Victoria


The Role:
Laminex is seeking a seasoned Maintenacne Reliability Manager to enhance operational effectiveness at our Cheltenham, Victoria site. This individual will champion the Laminex reliability journey over a transformative 2-year period. Reporting to the Manufacturing Operations Manager - NSW/VIC, the successful candidate will embody resilience, not just withstanding but thriving amidst complex team dynamics and challenging scenarios. This is a role for a leader who can evolve our culture from reactive maintenance to preventative and proactive strategies.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a complex maintenance team, fostering a culture of planning and seizing asset optimization opportunities.
  • Drive the adoption and effective use of MEX for maintenance management, ensuring its correct setup and utilization.
  • Collaborate across functions to rapidly address plant operation issues and maintain continuous operation of High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) lines.
  • Develop and enforce maintenance and reliability strategies to enhance asset availability and tap into reliability improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee a fully developed Preventative Maintenance program, with an active schedule to ensure peak asset performance.
  • Uphold the site’s safety policies and procedures, emphasizing a culture of health and safety as the primary goal.
  • Initiate and support Continuous Improvement efforts aimed at simplifying processes and bolstering reliability.
  • Undertake project management for engineering projects, such as installations or upgrades up to $250K, liaising with safety teams and suppliers to ensure optimal outcomes.

About You:
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A robust track record in leading complex teams, with proven experience in managing intricate team dynamics (examples required).
  • Proficiency in rolling out significant reliability initiatives, with a capacity to guide our journey from reactive to proactive maintenance.
  • A background in mechanical, electrical, or industrial fields with a tertiary education in an engineering discipline.
  • Strong project management skills for handling small to medium engineering projects.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a capability to work cross-functionally.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems like SAP or MEX.
  • A valid Forklift, Elevated Work Platform, and Work at Height ticket will be advantageous.
