Description

Laminex New Zealand forms part of the Light Building Products division of Fletcher Building Products Ltd, and we are a trusted business partner for decorative surfaces and panel products, offering expert knowledge and exceptional value to our customers. With market-leading brands in our portfolio including Strandfloor, Formica, Seratone, Melteca, Lakepine MDF, and Caesarstone, Laminex NZ offers residential and commercial solutions for all interior spaces, from benchtops and cabinetry, through to structural flooring, wall lining, and commercial joinery.

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Business Partner to take on a diverse role combining financial and management accounting with commercial partnering to support business improvement and growth. Reporting to the Commercial Manager and based either at our Auckland head office in Penrose or at our Taupō manufacturing plant, you will lead all financial aspects of our Taupō and Hamilton sites, including performance management, compliance, CAPEX, product costing, and financial modelling for new initiatives. With the ability to travel regularly between sites, you will also play a key role in shaping new financial processes for our modern, highly automated Taupō facility, partnering closely with operational leaders, building trusted relationships, and driving insights that support operational and commercial decision making.

You will provide the business with analysis, insights, and transparent reporting to enable performance to be measured, monitored, and used as a basis for key decision-making. This includes the coordination, consolidation, and finalisation of information from the Manufacturing components of the business and manage the completion of budgets, forecasts, and reporting packs.

About You
  • Proven experience in manufacturing financial and management accounting, including product costing and operational finance.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with a CPA or equivalent recognised accounting qualification.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills - able to influence, build trust, communicate clearly, and tell the story behind the numbers.
  • Solid technical experience in manufacturing, with an understanding of operational drivers, P&L behaviour, costing, and efficiency metrics.
  • Advanced data modelling and analytical capability, including experience working with large datasets and advanced Excel.
  • Skilled in BI tools such as COGNOS, TM1, QlikView, or Power BI, with the ability to improve financial reporting and data insights.
  • Detail oriented yet able to step back and see the bigger commercial picture, providing meaningful insights that support decision making.
  • A self-starter with strong commercial acumen and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Demonstrated history of delivering results and supporting business growth.

Why Join Us?
As part of the Fletcher Building group of companies, you will be able to leverage experience and relationships from across our organisation and achieve success for yourself and our company. You will be joining a business in great shape that is ready to capitalise on your drive and energy and can offer great benefits that come from working with one of New Zealand’s largest listed companies. If you're ready to step into a pivotal role with real influence and impact, we’d love to hear from you.

Studies indicate that some females and minority groups may hesitate to apply unless they meet all the criteria. If this role interests you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every requirement.

Our teams thrive on diversity, embracing various nationalities, languages, religions, customs, and lifestyles. We are proud of our diversity and see it as one of the things that make us better together.
