Description

Laminex is a leading manufacturer of decorative surfaces and building products. We are looking for a Manufacturing Planner to play a pivotal role in aligning production capacity, customer demand, and inventory performance at our Taupō site.

The Role
As a Manufacturing Planner, you will play a central role in driving manufacturing performance by balancing production capacity, customer demand, and inventory outcomes. The role is critical to ensuring stock availability, efficient production, and reliable delivery within a dynamic and evolving manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for planning and scheduling production, managing inventory levels, and delivering data driven insights that support effective decision making across both production and sales teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage production plans to meet sales, inventory, and service targets.
  • Align manufacturing output with customer demand through close collaboration with production, customer service, and product teams.
  • Analyse forecasts, stock levels, and capacity constraints, providing actionable insights to key stakeholders.
  • Manage inventory performance, including replenishment, WIP, SLOB/offcuts, and month end processes.
  • Prepare monthly and month end reporting, delivering clear insights on production and inventory performance.
  • Monitor material availability and manage weekly ordering to support production plans.
  • Maintain and improve production planning SOPs, supporting custom manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure accuracy of production and inventory systems, resolving IS issues and supporting manual processes as required.

About You
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience as a Production Planner/Scheduler in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong production planning and scheduling capability.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, scheduling and planning tools) combined with hands on experience in ERP systems such as BPCS or similar.
  • Strong analytical capability with proven experience in forecasting and reporting, supported by high attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Exposure to inventory optimisation and stock level recovery initiatives.
  • Clear, confident communicator who can work across multiple teams.
  • Ability to adapt to changing production conditions and operational requirements.
