Humes is the largest pipeline systems supplier in New Zealand and a very successful business unit within the wider Fletcher Building Group. We externally source and distribute a range of products of various materials and manufacture a range of concrete pipe and precast structures for the infrastructure, drain layer and rural markets. Humes operate seven manufacturing operations and 23 sales centres throughout New Zealand.

About the role
We are looking to appoint a National Credit Manager into our Commercial Team based in our Penrose National Support Office. This position reports into the Commercial Manager for Humes and plays a key leadership role within the organisation. 

We are looking for someone with a depth of experience within Credit Control as you will need to be recognised as the Subject Matter Expert in this space by not only your team but by other key stakeholders within the business as well as Fletcher Building. Experience working for a large national business with branches or operational locations across multiple sites will be considered advantageous. You will be someone who offers tested leadership and people management experience, as this is a key part of the role.
 
About you
We will be looking for someone who can develop and build a benchmark of what “good” looks like and ensure that your team are working consistently towards shared targets and goals. However, you will need to be someone who can work with a diversity of internal stakeholders and appreciate that sometimes flexibility is required, particularly with customers where there is a long-standing history or deep connection with our Sales and Distribution Teams. 

As a result, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence and motivate others is a key requirement. You will be pragmatic and able to put your view across in a strategic well considered manner rather than leaning on and enforcing a process.
