The Opportunity
As the National Manufacturing Manager based in Tauranga, you will lead and oversee our manufacturing operations in both Tauranga and Christchurch, efficiently managing resources, including manpower, equipment and budgets to achieve operational goals whilst ensuring efficiency, quality, safety and a high-performance culture.  Your role will include”

  • Operational Management: Developing and executing a comprehensive manufacturing strategy to meet production targets, quality standards and cost whilst directing and optimizing production processes to achieve and maintain operational excellence. 
  • Quality Assurance/ Health & Safety: Ensure all products meet or exceed quality standards and implement quality control processes to maintain consistency with safety as a core focus
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a large high performing team, provide mentorship,  and foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, accountability and innovation.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategies to enhance productivity and profitability. This includes analysing industry trends, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement and implementing best practices to stay ahead of the competition
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
  • Communication: Work closely with wider SLT and cross-functional teams, including engineering, supply chain and sales to align manufacturing operations with company goals whilst assessing and reporting regularly on the performance of manufacturing operations.

About You
You’re an experienced leader with a strong background in manufacturing, driven by a passion for driving excellence. Your proven track record in senior manufacturing roles demonstrates your ability to manage and inspire large teams. You will also have;
  • Extensive experience in managing complex manufacturing operations, with product knowledge of plasterboard or similar highly automated manufacturing processes 
  • Minimum 10 years leading a best practice operations/manufacturing function with multi-site focus
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Manufacturing, Engineering or related discipline
  • Strategic thinker who can navigate challenges, solve complex problems, make sound decisions quickly and drive success
  • Strong safety culture and ability to establish a safety mindset in the business
  • Excellent communicator and exceptional customer focus with capability to build strong relationships with individuals at all levels
