We’re looking for a values-driven National Operations Manager to lead our manufacturing function with empathy, clarity, and purpose.

This is a pivotal leadership role that nurtures people, drives innovation, and delivers operational excellence and efficiency across our national footprint.

What You’ll Lead With Purpose:

  • Foster a culture of safety and wellbeing, championing zero harm and continuous improvement across all sites.
  • Guide the strategic direction of four manufacturing plants, ensuring alignment with business goals and values.
  • Inspire and develop high-performing teams through coaching, recognition, and inclusive leadership practices.
  • Collaborate across Fletcher Building to deliver sustainable growth, leveraging shared resources and collective expertise.
  • Lead capital improvement projects and innovation initiatives that position Humes as a market leader in concrete infrastructure solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Build organisational capability by attracting, developing, and retaining future leaders and skilled professionals.
  • Ensure excellence in customer service, product quality, inventory management, and delivery performance.
  • Oversee financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, and capital expenditure planning.
  • Champion manufacturing excellence through process optimisation, benchmarking, and technology adoption.
  • Lead preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to enhance plant reliability and efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement in quality management, engineering practices, and inventory accuracy.
  • Strengthen supplier and contractor relationships, ensuring safety, service, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Facilitate change management with a focus on employee engagement and seamless adoption of new practices.
  • Ensure compliance with trade legislation and Fletcher Building policies.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A collaborative leadership style that values transparency, accountability, integrity, and shared success.
  • Proven experience in multi-site manufacturing operations, ideally within concrete pipe or precast environments.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a track record of delivering results through people
  • Tertiary qualifications in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Management (post-graduate preferred).
  • A commitment to inclusive leadership, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
