Description

At Iplex, we're helping shape the future of New Zealand's infrastructure. From water and wastewater networks to civil and construction projects, our plastic pipeline solutions play a critical role in connecting communities and supporting growth across the country.

Due to continued growth, we have a newly created role for a National Technical Specifications Manager to drive best-in-class technical standards and support commercial growth.

About the Role
The National Technical Specifications Manager will play a pivotal role in bridging the technical specification gap for end users. You will be working closely with the sales team and both transactional, and non-transactional customers to provide expert guidance, and help shape solutions across the business.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead the development and evolution of technical specifications and documentation.
  • Act as the technical expert supporting sales and customer engagement.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, council, engineers, and contractors.
  • Deliver training and technical guidance across the business.
  • Keep Iplex at the forefront of industry standards and innovation.

About You
We’re looking for someone with proven experience in a technical / specifications / engineering role (ideally 5+ years) who has a background in infrastructure or related industries. You will ideally bring:
  • A degree in Engineering, Technical Management or similar,
  • Strong stakeholder skills — able to influence both technical and commercial audiences.
  • Strong ability to translate complex technical information into practical solutions.
  • Experience supporting sales or project outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail.

Why Join Iplex?
At Iplex, you’ll join a supportive and collaborative team within one of New Zealand’s leading infrastructure and manufacturing businesses. This role offers a rare opportunity to step into a newly created role where you can truly make it your own — ideal for someone who thrives on influence, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and is passionate about driving better outcomes across the industry.

As part of Fletcher Building, you’ll also enjoy access to our Employee Education Fund for you and dependents, KiwiSaver contributions matched to 4% of your base salary, employee wellbeing initiatives, generous Parental Leave and company discounts amongst much more.

Studies indicate that some females and minority groups may hesitate to apply unless they meet all the criteria. If this role interests you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every requirement. Our teams thrive on diversity, embracing various nationalities, languages, religions, customs, and lifestyles. We are proud of our diversity and see it as one of the things that make us better together.
