About the Role
This role sits at the front end of major civil projects, shaping how work is planned, priced, and delivered. As a New Business Engineer, based in Wellington, you will work closely with project teams to develop tender solutions, refine construction methodologies, and support the transition from concept through to delivery.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Develop construction methodologies, staging plans, and tender programmes
  • Prepare and coordinate tender inputs, including pricing documentation
  • Support Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and contribute to project planning
  • Identify and manage risks within bids, including temporary works requirements
  • Work closely with estimators, project managers, supervisors, and commercial teams
  • Assist with project handover, mobilisation, and management planning

What You’ll Bring to the Role
  • Civil Engineering degree or similar tertiary qualification
  • Around 5+ years’ experience in civil construction or infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and project risks
  • Confident working across teams and building relationships with stakeholders
  • Clear communicator with solid written, analytical, and organisational skills
  • Able to manage competing deadlines and find practical solutions under pressure
