Description

As Operations Manager, you’ll be hands-on and closely connected to the overall operations of the branch. You’ll be leading the team across customer service, logistics, and performance.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead the team to consistently deliver excellent customer service
  • Seek solutions for internal and external customers, ensuring the branch is tidy, presentable, and proactive in meeting customer needs
  • Support retail sales through in house promotions, reporting, analysis, and collaboration with stakeholders 
  • Ensure SOPs are followed, champion best practice across the network, and continuously review processes to improve efficiency
  • Monitor dispatch performance, proactively manage freight recovery, and ensure DIFOT targets are achieved 
  • Play an active role in the Branch Leadership Team, monitoring performance against plan and taking corrective action where required
  • Lead the team in the Branch Operators absence, providing clear direction, managing employee issues, and ensuring access to relevant training
  • Recruit, induct, and develop employees, set clear expectations, communicate effectively, and provide regular feedback
  • Plan weekly rosters, sign off payroll, and manage employee reviews

This is a permanent Full Time position working 40 Hours Monday-Friday based in our New Plymouth Branch

You will bring:
  • Proven customer service experience with a strong focus on acting in the customer’s best interests
  • Experience leading teams, recruiting, developing, and managing staff
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to find practical solutions for customers and the business
  • The confidence to influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong reporting and analytical capability
  • Solid business acumen and the ability to manage operational metrics
  • Experience with building products, logistics, or operational environments (preferred)
  • Previous managerial or change management experience (preferred)
