Description

Higgins Hamilton have secured an exciting new contract - the Waikato District Council northern road maintenance and renewals contract. Due to this, our team is growing, and we are seeking an Operations Manager to join the Green Team now, ready for project kick off in July 2025. 
 
The contract covers North Waikato from Huntly to Pōkeno and includes maintenance of a comprehensive network of approximately 1250km of sealed and unsealed roads including rural and coastal areas. 
 
Based from our depot in Rangiriri and reporting to the Contract Manager, this is a leadership opportunity where you will be responsible for delivery of maintenance works, annual programmes, and allocated additional works.  This is a diverse role so you will be multi skilled and a proven leader who is hands on as this will enable you to look after our teams and ensure their operation is a success.

What you’ll bring to the role: 
  • Civil construction/maintenance contracting, operational delivery background with a minimum of 10 years’ experience
  • Experience and familiarity with the NZTA /local authority road maintenance contracting environments
  • Bachelor of Engineering or other relevant Tertiary qualifications desired  
  • High level leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence
  • Financial and commercial acumen
