Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our team based in Banyo, Brisbane.

Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader, your primary objective will be to ensure the accurate and timely processing of all end-to-end payroll tasks. You will play a crucial role in maintaining compliance with company procedures, contractual terms, and relevant employment legislation, ensuring our employees are paid on time, every time.


The Role
As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
  • Taking full ownership of the end-to-end process for each pay run to ensure it is completed accurately and to a high standard.
  • Managing Time and Attendance systems to ensure accurate time inputs, providing guidance on pay rules, and testing system updates.
  • Ensuring all employee payments, including allowances and other payments, are accurate and on time.
  • Completing year-end activities, month-end reconciliations, and filing of EMS and PAYG.
  • Auditing work patterns and payments to ensure compliance with tax, superannuation, and holiday legislation.
  • Managing and resolving escalated payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Championing continuous improvement by reviewing processes and working with the team to implement positive change.


About you
To be successful in this role, you will be a customer-focused professional with a high level of personal drive and exceptional attention to detail. You will also have:
  • Proven experience in a high-volume payroll environment, working with Enterprise Agreements and Modern Awards.
  • Excellent knowledge of Australian employment legislation.
  • Experience interpreting EBAs to maintain pay rules in time and attendance systems.
  • Strong experience in managing compliance and controls across the end-to-end payroll process.
  • Competent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to advise clients professionally.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
