About the role

This is a high-impact role where you’ll drive end-to-end improvements across Payroll and Time & Attendance (T&A). This role will see you act as the crucial link between the Australian Payroll Team and various stakeholders in these business units, ensuring seamless support, strong compliance and controls within our Time and Attendance (T&A) application, delivering support and ensuring timely completion of critical business processes. 

You will work heavily with our rostering managers to ensure that the business units are rostering their workforce in compliance with rostering and penalty rule as outlined in relevant enterprise agreements and modern awards while actively identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort, standardise processes, and improve system outcomes. Other key responsibilities include:
  • Serve as a liaison between the Fletcher Building Payroll Team, the business units, People & Performance, our Technology team to provide T&A support, controls, and checks
  • Analyse current payroll and T&A processes to identify inefficiencies and drive optimisation
  • Support testing activities including UAT coordination, test scripting, and defect resolution
  • Utilise advanced Excel skills to analyse and interpret data, providing valuable business insights
  • Support a strong compliance framework aligned to employment instruments (Awards & EAs)
  • Develop and maintain process maps, work instructions, and training materials

About you
  • Proven experience in payroll and or time and attendance management, preferably in a large organisation
  • Kronos and Chris 21 experience is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and bring your stakeholders on the journey with you
  • Advanced Excel skills and be confident in system report generation
  • Strong data analytical mindset
  • Proven ability to support system changes (requirements, testing, implementation)
