The Role
As a Payroll Systems Analyst, you will act as an interface between the NZ Payroll team as part of our Finance, Strategy and Performance Unit and other Fletcher Building Business Units or departments to deliver support for our payroll systems and to enable operational efficiencies to payroll operations. Provide ‘business as usual’ support for payroll and time & attendance systems and reporting tools.  Take ownership for delivery of process or business change projects, including payroll migrations, through change management, testing and process design.  You will build strong key stakeholder relationships and manage any system queries, investigating and resolving issues that arise and training users on new processes.

About You
You will bring at least 2-3 years’ experience in building and maintaining stakeholder and client relationships. With a background as a Business Analyst and/or Payroll Specialist, you will enjoy working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment and providing solutions to end-user and customer problems. Your proficiency in providing hands-on payroll end-user system support and experience in testing of such systems is a must. 

Your previous experience will demonstrate:
  • Experience with NZ payroll, and the main legislative requirements and practical application of the laws is essential.
  • High level of analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work under pressure, develop solutions to problems and make decisions.
  • High level of attention to detail, producing high-quality of work.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Workforce Software (T&A) or similar, Power BI and Qlik is beneficial.
  • Experience of Chris21/iChris or similar payroll system is advantageous.
  • Data analysis – must have proficiency with Microsoft Excel to an advanced level.
  • SQL knowledge to support report writing.
