Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a People and Performance Business Partner to join our Higgins Auckland Region.

As the dedicated P&P support for the region, you’ll work closely with the Region Manager and Senior Leadership Team. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about coaching, builds trust, lifts capability, and empowers leaders to grow with confidence. With strong people instincts and deep HR expertise, you’ll guide effective conversations, influence decision-making, and foster meaningful relationships across the business.

You’ll lead and support initiatives across employee relations, talent management, people strategy and policy, organisational development, workforce planning, remuneration, systems and analytics, while championing a culture of diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Advisor ready for their next challenge, or for a seasoned Business Partner seeking broader strategic exposure and deeper involvement in employee relations.

What you will bring to the role:
  • Proven HR generalist experience (3–6+ years) in Senior Advisor or Business Partner roles. Experience in Construction or Manufacturing is highly advantageous.
  • Strong coaching mindset and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to influence and support leaders at all levels
  • Hands-on involvement in cyclical HR activities, from recruitment and performance management to remuneration and workforce planning
  • Comfortable driving change initiatives and aligning people strategy with broader business goals
  • Knowledge of HR systems, data analytics, and their practical application for smarter decision-making
  • Solid understanding of New Zealand employment legislation. Experience in unionised environments beneficial but not essential.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organised, with a proactive and flexible approach to priorities
  • Passionate about continuous improvement and always looking for opportunities to enhance how we work

Come Join the Green Team:
  • Competitive salary
  • This is a sole facing role for the Auckland region where you will have a good autonomy alongside support from your wider People & Performance community
  • Based at our office in East Tamaki - parking available
  • In-house support from Talent Acquisition, Shared Services and Learning & Development
  • Join a supportive team within your region and the wider Higgins business.
  • Career development – opportunities to grow your career at Higgins and the wider Fletcher Building group of businesses.
  • Access to Fletchers Building Benefits Programme, including:
  • A brand-new market-leading parental leave policy to ensure employees are well supported throughout one of life’s most significant events.
  • FB employee share scheme, educational and welfare funds.
  • A significant portfolio of retail benefits across major NZ businesses such as ANZ, Z energy, PlaceMakers, Mico and Samsung.

Higgins is a leading roading and civil infrastructure company in New Zealand. We are on a dynamic growth path with people at the heart of what we do every day.
