Description

Our Role

We’re looking for a skilled Precast Team Leader who’s ready to take the next step into a hands‑on leadership role. You’ll be working with the latest Dry Cast and Wet Cast technology and helping to guide a capable team in our concrete pipe plant.

  • Monday to Friday – Full Time
  • Papakura Location

This is a permanent role where you be responsible overseeing day-to-day activities of the concrete pipe plant. You’ll lead and develop the team to ensure quality output, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement — all while maintaining a strong safety culture.

If you’ve been a go‑to person on the line, have some experience supervising others, and want to build your leadership career, this is your opportunity.

What's in it for you?

  • Be a part of the Fletcher Building Group
  • Attractive salary package starting from $70k per annum.
  • Staff discounts – PlaceMakers/Mico/Southern Cross and many more
  • Employee Education Fund – Staff & Dependents
  • Parental Leave Policy that will make it easier to our employees to become parents while working at Humes.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and support a production team on the factory floor
  • Conduct Pre‑pour and Post‑pour checks to ensure product quality
  • Ensure all precast concrete products are manufactured in accordance with standards
  • Read and interpret technical drawings to guide production
  • Manage day‑to‑day workflow and allocate routine tasks to the team
  • Order and manage concrete ready‑mix loads
  • Maintain strong health & safety standards and drive a zero‑harm culture
  • Support operator training and capability development
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors, maintenance, and quality teams

What You Will Bring

  • 2+ years of supervisory or leading‑hand experience in manufacturing, precast, or a similar hands‑on environment
  • Strong people skills — able to motivate, coach, and set clear expectations
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control
  • A commitment for best health and safety practices
  • Good communication skills and confidence working with different stakeholders
  • Proficient computer literacy skills (MS Office, relevant production systems)

Research shows that females and minority groups don’t apply for roles unless they match 100% the job description.

We are proud of your diversity and see it as one of the things that make us stronger. We welcome your individuality and encourage you to bring your true self to work, so if this role is of interest but you feel you don’t fit it, we would still love you to apply.
