The Golden Bay team at Portland, have a wide range of experience and are keen to share this with you.  You will be joining a supportive environment where the team will ensure you are well equipped with the tools you need to succeed not only in this role, but your future roles. 

You will have recently graduated or have 1-2 years working experience and looking for a role where you will thrive working with a collaborative team.  You will need to be someone who can readily demonstrate your problem solving and time management skills as you will be working in a role with real responsibilities within your first few months.

Things you will do:
  • Work with our quality and maintenance teams to provide support to ensure effective running of the plant and maintenance shutdowns
  • Identify areas of poor process performance and develop solutions to increase efficiency, reduce cost, improve reliability and maximise profitability
  • Lead and coordinate cross functional teams to ensure all stakeholders fully engaged in projects
  • Ensure any projects are delivered on time and to agreed budgets.

To be successful for this role:
  • Degree in Mechanical or Chemical & Materials Engineering or minimum 1–2 years manufacturing plant experience  
  • Good problem-solving skills and experience with manufacturing techniques and practical implementation
  • The ability to communicate confidently and effectively across all levels of the business
  • Passion for working independently and as part of the team
  • Self-motivation, determined and committed to learning, and willing to take on new challenges in a demanding and dynamic environment
  • Legally entitled to work in NZ on a fulltime, permanent basis
