The Role
This 12 month fixed-term key role sits within the Quality and Process Improvement team and is responsible for delivering process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across the Tauranga-based site. You will apply specialist process engineering expertise to support manufacturing performance, optimise plant and equipment, and deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, quality and cost. Key Responsibilities include:
  • Health, Safety & Environment - Champion a zero-harm culture and ensure compliance with H&S and environmental standards. Embed safety-by-design principles in plant and process changes.
  • Process Improvement & Optimisation - Analyse production data (uptime, recoveries, production rates) to identify and deliver improvement initiatives. Lead process optimisation projects in collaboration with engineering, maintenance and production teams. Ensure consistent product quality and robust, flexible manufacturing processes.
  • Systems, Projects & Sustainability - Contribute to engineering standards and SOP development. Lead plant commissioning activities including procedures, training and validation. Support product formulation optimisation within process constraints.

About You
As well as a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process or a similar Engineering discipline, you will ideally have:
  • 5+ years’ process engineering experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and process optimisation capability.
  • Experience with HAZOP, PFD and P&ID development/review.
  • Proven involvement in CAPEX and continuous improvement projects.
  • Working knowledge of environmental compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Able to commit to a12 month fixed-term contract.
