The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and driven individual to lead our production factory at our Knoxfield site. A full time, permanent role, reporting to the Plant Manager, the successful candidate will have 2 direct reports and an overall team of 45 employees spanning production working across 3 shifts.

This role’s key focus is ensuring production targets are consistently met safely and efficiently by a motivated and engaged workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion Safety: Lead a safety-first culture and embed Zero Harm principles.
  • Oversee Daily Operations: Manage production to achieve safety, quality, and performance targets.
  • Inspire High Performance: Drive and develop a team of supervisors and production staff and cultivating high engagement built on trust.
  • Drive Efficiency: Monitor production performance, resolve issues promptly, and optimise resource allocation and workload distribution.
  • Manage Costs: Oversee labour and variable overheads, ensuring financial accountability within the production area.
  • Build Capability: Support workforce development through cross-skilling, training, and performance reviews.
  • Industrial Relations Management: Maintain positive union and employee representative relationships and assist with ER/IR matters.

About you
  • Proven leadership experience in a 24-hour manufacturing environment.
  • People engagement and coaching and mentoring capabilities.
  • Strong safety focus with a proactive approach and the ability to manage any OH&S issues to resolution.
  • Understanding of industrial relations frameworks, including interpreting enterprise agreements, managing union relationship and bargaining.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing in either formal environment of on-the-job experience would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated understanding of production levers that influence business P/L.
  • A tertiary (i.e. Bachelor, or Diploma level) qualification in engineering/supply chain is highly desirable although appropriate direct experience is equally valued.
