Our purpose is simple: improving the world around us through smart thinking, simply delivered. We deliver real value to our customers through innovation and reliability.

The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Production Manager to take charge of our Knoxfield manufacturing site. This is a full-time, permanent role reporting to the Plant Manager, leading a team of 45 employees across three shifts, including two direct reports.

Your mission? Lead with confidence, solve problems with agility, and create a culture where safety and performance go hand in hand.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Operations: Ensure production targets are met safely, efficiently, and on time.
  • Inspire People: Engage, coach, and develop your team to achieve high performance and trust.
  • Solve Problems: Tackle challenges head-on, optimise processes, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage Costs: Keep labour and overheads in check while maintaining quality.
  • Build Capability: Support training, cross-skilling, and career development.
  • Navigate ER/IR: Maintain strong relationships with unions and employee reps.

About You

  • Proven leadership experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

  • Strong people engagement skills with a passion for coaching and mentoring.
  • Safety-first mindset with the ability to resolve OH&S issues proactively.
  • Understanding of industrial relations frameworks and enterprise agreements.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing principles (formal or practical).
  • Commercial acumen with knowledge of production levers impacting P&L.
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering or supply chain is desirable, but experience counts.

Why Stramit?

  • Discounts across Fletcher Building companies.
  • Supportive leadership team and a safety-first culture.
  • Access to our Top Talent Academy and ongoing development.
  • Leading parental leave and family-friendly policies.
  • Employee Assistance Program for personal and professional wellbeing.
  • Proud partner of The Smith Family, supporting youth education.
