The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and driven individual to lead our production factory at our Knoxfield site. A full time, permanent role, reporting to the Plant Manager, the successful candidate will have 2 direct reports and an overall team of 45 employees spanning production working across 3 shifts.

This role’s key focus is ensuring production targets are consistently met safely and efficiently by a motivated and engaged workforce.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead by example, support and believe in Zero Harm and stewardship of safe operations.
  • Manage daily production operations to meet safety, quality and performance targets.
  • Drive and develop a team of supervisors and production staff, cultivating high engagement built on trust, shared purpose and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and manage production targets, ensuring efficient workload distribution and timely communication with Shift Supervisors to address issues/matters as they arise.
  • Oversee labour and variable overheads, ensuring financial accountability within the production area.
  • Ensure team member development and effective flexing of the workforce accommodate to operational requirements though cross-skilling and training matrix and performance reviews.
  • Assist with the effective management of industrial relations matters, including maintaining constructive relationships with unions and employee representatives, enterprise agreement negotiations and managing employment relations matters as they arise.

About you
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a 24-hour manufacturing environment.
  • Highly experienced production professional.
  • Experienced manager able to lift capability through coaching, mentoring and development.
  • Outcome focussed, resilient and adaptable.
  • Strong safety focus with a preventative/proactive approach and the ability to manage any OH&S issues to resolution.
  • Understanding of industrial relations frameworks, including interpreting enterprise agreements, managing union relationship and bargaining.
  • Exposure to principles of lean manufacturing in either formal environment of on-the-job experience would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated understanding of production levers that influence business P/L.
  • A tertiary (i.e. Bachelor, or Diploma level) qualification in engineering/supply chain is highly desirable although appropriate direct experience is equally valued.
