The role
Reporting to the Production Shift Team Lead, this role will see you responsible for the processes involved in the manufacture of GIB® plasterboard. Daily responsibilities will range across:
  • Routine checks of plant operations and controlling semi-automated equipment via computers
  • Process control, monitoring the chemical and physical aspects of board production
  • Replenishing additive lines and operating machines as required to ensure continuous production
  • Quality assurance duties and actively reporting issues or faults
  • Technical problem solving, and the ability to manage multiple production demands simultaneously.  
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrable mechanical and / or technical skills, and an interest in computer-controlled equipment. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential, as well as an aptitude for numerical calculations. Forklift experience will help provide a great start to the role. Motivated applicants who have mechanical or process engineering qualifications / experience would also be highly regarded. In addition to this, you will be: 
  • Physically fit with the ability to safely carry out manual handling tasks as required
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously within a team
  • Able to prioritise, meet deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy
  • A commitment to safe work practices and a belief that all injuries are preventable.
The successful candidate will work on an alternating shift pattern between morning and night shifts. The pattern after your initial training period is 2 day shifts (7 am – 7 pm), then 2 night shifts (7 pm – 7 am), followed by 4 days off. The role also includes:
