Description

We are team Iplex - we’re over 230 people strong and we’re highly passionate about delivering plastic pipeline systems in New Zealand as we work to become NZ’s leader of plastic building materials. We have team members working in manufacturing and distribution in Palmerston North, Christchurch and Ashburton, with our commercial head office based in Auckland.  

We are looking for a Production Process Technician to join our manufacturing team in Palmerston North. This requires someone who is a logical problem solver, someone who is able to keep calm and cool-headed while troubleshooting, in order to produce plastic pipes to meet our high standards of quality. 

The Process Technician provides technical expertise and resources to effectively enable the manufacturing teams to produce product that meets the required specifications.  They also support continuous improvement opportunities by conducting trials, optimizing processing parameters and other opportunities that return cost savings, efficiencies.

About the role:

In this role, you will utilise your mechanical skills and fault-finding abilities to support our 24/7 manufacturing operation. You’ll work Monday - Friday normal working hours (Around 7:30am-4pm)

About you:

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to bring the following:
  • Tertiary or industry qualification in engineering, plastics technology or other related field
  • Experience in a plastics manufacturing environment, preferably extrusion
  • Dedication to ensuring safety for yourself and your workmates
  • A strong focus on quality standards
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and strong mechanical aptitude
  • Methodical, a team player and keen to get involved to further your skills
