As part of the Fletcher Building Group, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality products with exceptional service. Our Auckland branch is a fast-paced, high-output facility—and we’re looking for a hands-on Production Shift Manager to lead our afternoon operations.

The Role

As Production Shift Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading the afternoon shift team, 2pm-10pm, Mon-Fri, to meet production targets safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll be a key player in driving performance, resolving issues on the floor, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the afternoon shift production team

• Ensure production schedules are met with minimal downtime

• Maintain high standards of health & safety, quality, and housekeeping

• Troubleshoot operational issues and escalate where necessary

• Monitor and report on shift performance metrics

• Coach and develop team members to build capability and engagement

• Collaborate with other shift managers and departments to ensure smooth handovers

You’re a natural leader with a strong operational mindset and a passion for getting the job done right. You thrive in a manufacturing environment and know how to motivate teams under pressure.

You’ll Bring:

• Experience in a production or manufacturing leadership role

• Strong understanding of health & safety and quality systems

• Excellent communication and team management skills

• Ability to make quick, sound decisions in a fast-paced setting

• Mechanical aptitude or experience in steel or building products is a plus

• A proactive, solutions-focused attitude
