We are now seeking a Project Engineer to join our Engineering team in Penrose. This is a role for someone who enjoys collaboration, thoughtful problem‑solving, and seeing projects progress from concept through to delivery.

About the role

In this role, you’ll contribute to a diverse portfolio of capital works and operational projects across our quarry and cleanfill sites. You’ll work closely with internal teams, contractors, and community stakeholders to ensure projects are well planned, safely delivered, and considerate of their environmental and local context. Regular site visits are part of the role, balanced with office‑based planning and coordination. 

What you’ll be responsible for

• Planning and delivering capital projects, ensuring they are well scoped, financially sound, and completed on time
• Supporting quarry planning, land development, and site infrastructure upgrades
• Coordinating contractors and overseeing construction activities with care and clarity
• Managing resource and building consent processes, including compliance with consent conditions
• Supporting erosion, sediment, and surface water management practices
• Contributing to health, safety, and wellbeing through proactive risk management and site audits
• Building positive relationships with site teams, partners, and local communities

What you’ll bring

• A tertiary qualification in Engineering or Earth Science
• Around five years’ experience in a civil engineering environment
• Exposure to bulk earthworks, quarrying, or large‑scale infrastructure projects (desirable)
• Experience with procurement and contract management (desirable)
• Confidence working both independently and alongside diverse teams
• Clear, respectful communication and a practical, solutions‑focused mindset
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar design software (advantageous)
