About the Role

This role leads the delivery of complex civil and ground engineering projects across Wellington. You’ll be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from early planning through to completion, while building capable teams and maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners, and communities.

You’ll balance commercial, technical, and people leadership, with a clear focus on safe, well‑planned, and predictable delivery.

  • Lead project delivery from start to finish across civil, structural, or foundation works
  • Build, guide, and support high‑performing project teams
  • Manage programme, costs, risks, and resources across live projects
  • Maintain clear governance, reporting, and commercial control
  • Lead safety, quality, and environmental performance on site
  • Manage client, consultant, and stakeholder relationships

What you’ll bring to the role

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager who enjoys leading teams and working through technically challenging construction environments.

  • A tertiary qualification in engineering or a related field
  • Significant experience delivering civil or infrastructure projects in New Zealand
  • Background in civil, structures, foundations, or ground engineering
  • Proven people leadership and team‑building capability
  • Strong commercial awareness and contract management experience
  • Clear communication skills and sound judgement under pressure
