Description

Who We Are

Stramit is Australia’s leading vertically integrated steel manufacturer and total steel building materials solutions provider. Part of the Fletcher Building Group, we employ 14,900 people across New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific. Our purpose is simple: improving the world around us through smart thinking, simply delivered — creating real value for our customers and communities.

We’re looking for a detail driven Purchasing & Inventory Officer to support our operations team by keeping stock flowing, suppliers engaged, and customers supported. This is a hands on coordination role, ideal for someone who enjoys working across teams and keeping things running smoothly.

What you’ll be doing

  • Monitor and analyse inventory levels to maintain healthy stock coverage and minimise obsolescence
  • Raise and manage purchase orders, tracking delivery ETAs and following up on delays
  • Work closely with suppliers to confirm timelines and resolve issues
  • Support inventory management activities including stock control, cycle counts and stocktakes
  • Partner with Customer Service, Sales, Production and Warehousing to support customer fulfilment
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice and pricing discrepancies

What we’re looking for

  • Strong coordination and follow through skills with great attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with expertise in formulas, pivot tables, and report building
  • Comfortable working across multiple stakeholders and priorities
  • Clear communicator who enjoys problem solving
  • Inventory, purchasing or supply chain experience is essential

Why Work With Us?

At Stramit, we believe that if you have the drive and commitment to make a difference, you’ll have a bright future with us. Whether you’re in the factory, on the road, or in the office, you’ll be supported by a team that values collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.

We’re proud to offer:
  • Generous parental leave (26 weeks full pay for primary carers or 52 weeks at 50%)
  • 4 weeks full pay for secondary carers
  • 5 additional ‘New Parent Leave’ days in your first year back
  • Strong inclusion and diversity benefits, including Gender Affirmation Leave
  • Access to PerkBox with thousands of retailer discounts
  • Full training, modern systems, and the tools you need to succeed
